SERVE WITH CAMP IN THE COMMUNITY
there is a place for you to help
SERVE
Camp in the Community is made possible by people who choose to show up.
Some serve at camp. Some pack supplies before summer ever begins. Some repair, build, organize, collect, cook, pray, or encourage.
Every act of service helps us get ready for the next camper.
You do not have to give an entire summer to make a meaningful difference.
Whether you have a few hours, a Saturday, a Sunday school class, a youth group, a workplace team, or a particular skill to share, there are many ways to serve alongside Camp in the Community.

HELP DURING CAMP
Welcome campers, serve meals, and support the week at a local site.

SERVE BEFORE SUMMER
long before campers arrive
A great camp week starts long before campers arrive.
Each year, hundreds of supplies have to be sorted, prepared, packed, labeled, and organized before our teams can hit the road.
These projects are especially well suited for Sunday school classes, youth groups, small groups, families, and service organizations.

GATHER A GROUP FOR A SERVICE PROJECT
Looking for a meaningful project for your church, youth group, workplace, civic organization, or community group?

PROJECTS MAY INCLUDE
HOST A SUPPLY DRIVE
One of the easiest ways to get an entire church, workplace, school, or community involved is by hosting a supply drive. Camp uses a tremendous amount of everyday materials each summer.
Your group can help collect items such as:
everyday materials
Craft supplies
STEM materials
Sunscreen
Water bottles
Snacks
School supplies
Hygiene items
Program materials
Staff care items
current needs
We can help you identify current needs so your collection directly supports the upcoming camp season.
SERVE DURING CAMP
Camp weeks require a lot of people working together.
working together
At many of our local sites, volunteers support the week by helping with things like:
-
Camper check-in and check-out
-
Meals and snacks
-
Setup and cleanup
-
Hospitality
-
Program support
-
Special activities
-
Behind-the-scenes logistics
welcoming & connected
Opportunities vary by community, but local volunteers are an important part of helping camp feel welcoming, safe, and connected to the neighborhood.
USE YOUR SKILLS
Sometimes the best way to serve is simply by sharing something you already know how to do.
something you know
We regularly depend on people with a wide variety of skills and experience.
If you have a skill you would be willing to share, we would love to hear from you.

MORE WAYS TO SHOW UP
Camp staff give an incredible amount of themselves each summer.
They travel, lead activities, care for campers, build relationships, solve problems, and pour energy into their communities week after week.
Churches, families, and groups can help encourage them by preparing:
-
Notes and cards
-
Prayer cards
-
Snacks and care packages
-
Small staff appreciation gifts
-
Meals
-
Encouragement for especially busy weeks
Sometimes a simple reminder that people are praying for them and cheering them on can make a tremendous difference.
ENCOURAGE OUR SUMMER STAFF

BIG OR SMALL, YOUR SERVICE MATTERS
There is no single right way to serve.
you might
You might spend an afternoon packing totes.
Your Sunday school class might assemble 300 craft kits.
Your youth group might spend a weekend improving a property.
Your company might host a supply drive.
You might volunteer for a few hours during a camp week.
You might offer a professional skill we desperately need.
it all matters
Every box packed, every project completed, every meal served, every prayer offered, and every hour volunteered helps us prepare to welcome another child to camp.
