Camp in the Community and Holston Camp and Retreat Ministries have been closely monitoring the Covid-19 outbreak. As we have been watching events unfold, we have been in prayer for the wellbeing of your family.
After a very difficult discerning process, and after many conversations with medical advisors, camper families, and staff, we have made the tough decision not to host summer camp this year. This is not a decision we made lightly, but our main priority is always the safety of our campers, their families and community, and our staff. We could not, in good conscience, hold summer camp this year knowing that we would be putting those we serve and those who serve alongside us at risk.
We appreciate that camp is the highlight of the year for many in our communities. Although we cannot host our usual summer camp this year, we are shifting our energies to planning camp programming again when it is safe to do so.
While COVID-19 has changed so much for us and everyone, we will continue to move forward with our mission to serve and share God through it all. We ask that you be in prayer for Camp in the Community as we serve amidst these challenges. We are working on something exciting for our communities that will be fun and beneficial, even from a distance.
